Joann focuses on what it means to be single, date smart, and teaches single men and women to love themselves and find satisfaction in their own independence. She also works with teens to develop healthy relationships among their peers and family as well as overcoming life’s pressures and improving low self-esteem.
Joann is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with the State of Florida.
Joann has worked with a broad spectrum of counseling cases beginning as a Dependency Case Manager for Children’s Home Society where she counseled at-risk children and struggling families. She has experience developing personalized case plans, including interventions in anger management, family counseling, individual counseling, and parenting Joann previously worked as a S.A.F.E Coordinator for Westridge Middle School running small groups, counseling adolescents and families along with finding resources within the community and directing the Character Development program. Upon graduation, Joann became a part of the Marriage and Family Research Institute with the University of Central Florida working as a marital counselor for couples and individuals and facilitating marital and relationship education workshops.
Joan received a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.
Joann currently volunteers working with foster children as an on-call counselor and contributes her time working as a mentor, motivational speaker and volunteer in the public school system.
WHAT JOANN DOES FOR FUN OR IN HER PAST TIME
Joann enjoys spending time with her husband and her large family. She loves staying active, being with good friends, and playing music in her church’s band.
