Team LCS Participating in NAMIGO Walk

The staff of Life Counseling Solutions is raising funds and participating in this year’s National Alliance on Mental Illness of Greater Orlando’s (NAMIGO) walk, Saturday, May 4 at Lake Lily in Maitland.

Approximately one in four adults suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year.  In Central Florida, this means about 300,000 people are living with a mental illness.  So, either directly or indirectly, this affects nearly every person in the workplace.  Mental disorders are the leading cause of disability in the United States for people between the ages of 15 and 44 years and it has been estimated that the financial cost of mental illness to our nation is $63 billion in lost productivity from those living with untreated mental illness and their family caregivers.
The goal of the NAMI Walk is to raise both money and awareness of the need for Orlando to support a world-class treatment and recovery system for people with mental illness – 100% of the proceeds from the Walk will be used locally by NAMI in the following ways:
• To provide support to persons with serious brain disorders and to their families
• To educate families and consumers
• To advocate for improved opportunities for housing, rehabilitation and meaningful jobs
• To support public education programs designed to help eliminate the pervasive stigma surrounding severe mental illness

You can help us reach our team goal of $250 by donating to Team LCS!  All money donated will stay right here in the Greater Orlando area and provide resources for individuals and families affected by mental illness.

If you would like to donate in honor or in memory of a loved one, or just want to support Team LCS, please call us at 407-622-1770 or go directly to the website.  THANK YOU!
